MemPalace keeps your agent conversations as verbatim text and retrieves them with semantic search, without summarising or paraphrasing. People and projects become wings, topics become rooms and the original text lives in drawers, so a search can be scoped. It works with Claude Code and other agents through its MCP server and skills.
It's a Python package (Python 3.9 or later); the makers recommend `uv tool install mempalace`. The default retrieval backend is ChromaDB and can be swapped. A multi-arch Docker image also runs natively on Apple silicon.
MemPalace is free and MIT-licensed. Nothing leaves your machine unless you opt in. The makers warn that the GitHub repository, PyPI and mempalaceofficial.com are its only official sources.
