agent-browser is a native Rust command-line tool that gives an agent a browser it drives step by step. `snapshot` returns the page as short text with a ref such as @e1 for each element; the agent acts on a ref, reads the page again and repeats. It also takes screenshots and PDFs, records sessions, reads network and console logs, and can start an MCP server.
Install it from npm or Homebrew, then run `agent-browser install` to download Chrome for Testing. It can also attach to a Chrome you already run. It ships skills that teach coding agents how to use it.
It's free and open source under Apache-2.0. The browser runs on your Mac; what the agent reads goes to the AI app you connect.
npm install -g agent-browser && agent-browser installbrew install agent-browserOfficial downloads only. MLX never re-hosts an app, and never runs a command for you.
