n8n lets you build AI agents and multi-step workflows on a visual canvas, mixing in JavaScript or Python when needed, with 1,500+ integrations and 9,000+ templates. It works with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or open models.
On a Mac, try it with npx n8n (Node.js 20.19 to 24.x) and open localhost:5678, or use the one-line installer, which needs Docker. npm installs are deprecated from n8n 3.0.
The self-hosted Community Edition is free; n8n Cloud and enterprise plans cost money. n8n is fair-code under its Sustainable Use License, not an OSI open-source licence. Your workflows run on your Mac; AI steps call the providers you configure.
