Kimi Code CLI reads and edits code, runs shell commands, searches files and fetches web pages from your terminal. It can send built-in coder, explore and plan subagents off in parallel, take a screen recording as input, and manage MCP servers and plugins. With `kimi acp` it plugs into Zed, JetBrains and other ACP editors.

The install script needs no Node.js; the npm package needs Node.js 22.19 or later. It replaces the older Python kimi-cli, which is archived.

The CLI is MIT licensed. You sign in with a Kimi Code membership or a Moonshot AI Open Platform API key, and the models run on Moonshot's servers; other compatible providers can be configured.
