Copilot CLI runs the same agent as GitHub's Copilot coding agent in your terminal. It builds, edits, debugs and refactors code, shows every action for approval first, and ships with GitHub's MCP server.

It runs on macOS, Linux and Windows. Install it with GitHub's script, Homebrew or npm, then sign in with /login.

It needs an active Copilot plan, and an organisation can switch it off. The AI runs in GitHub's cloud.
