Copilot suggests code as you type and answers questions in a chat panel. In agent mode it edits across files, fixes bugs and runs MCP tools. It works in VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, Neovim and Xcode.
The Xcode extension is a separate Mac app that needs macOS 13 or later and Xcode 14 or later, and asks for Accessibility and Source Editor Extension permissions.
Copilot Free gives limited access at no cost; Pro, Pro+ and Max are paid plans. Your prompts and code context go to GitHub's cloud.
How to Get It
brew install --cask github-copilot-for-xcodeOfficial downloads only. MLX never re-hosts an app, and never runs a command for you.
