Amp is a coding agent that uses several frontier models, each for what it does best. Besides the terminal CLI it can start orbs, machines set up per thread that keep working after you close your laptop, and you can follow up from the Mac or iPhone apps.
The CLI installs with Amp's script. The Mac app needs Apple silicon and macOS 26 or later; the iPhone and iPad app is a TestFlight beta.
The Hobby tier is free with pay-as-you-go hosted orbs, and you can use your own ChatGPT or Claude subscription or API keys. Megawatt is $20 a month. The models run in the cloud.
