Apple's SDK gives Python access to the on-device model at the core of Apple Intelligence, through the Foundation Models framework. You can generate and stream text, use guided generation to get typed objects back, call tools, and run batch evaluations of Swift app features, including transcripts exported from Swift apps.

It needs macOS 26.0 or later, Xcode 26.0 or later with its licence accepted, Python 3.10 or later, and Apple Intelligence turned on for a compatible Mac.

It's free and open source (Apache 2.0). The model runs on your Mac.

How to Get It

pip
pip install apple-fm-sdk

Official downloads only. MLX never re-hosts an app, and never runs a command for you.
