Monologue turns speech into formatted text in whatever app you are typing in, and adapts the style to the app (code, email, chat). It also records voice notes and meetings without a bot, summarises them and syncs them across your Apple devices. Saved notes are available to AI agents through MCP, an API and a CLI.
It has native apps for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch and handles 100+ languages. On a Mac it can record your microphone and system audio together once you grant Screen Recording.
The free trial includes 1,000 dictation words and 10 notes. Pro is $15 a month or $144 a year. Local models on the Mac can transcribe offline; smart formatting and sync need a connection. Monologue says it does not keep dictation audio or transcripts on its servers and its AI providers process dictation with zero retention; saved notes are stored in your account.
Official downloads only. MLX never re-hosts an app, and never runs a command for you.
