WhisperKit runs OpenAI's Whisper speech-to-text models on Apple devices through Core ML. It is part of Argmax's open-source Swift SDK, next to SpeakerKit (speaker diarization) and TTSKit (text to speech).

Developers add it to apps with Swift Package Manager; the command-line tool installs with Homebrew (brew install whisperkit-cli). It needs macOS 14 or later.

It is free and open source (MIT). Transcription runs on your device.
