Osaurus is an agent app for macOS written in Swift. Each agent has its own prompts, memory and tools; it can work in a folder with file, search and git tools, run code in an isolated Linux VM, browse the web and generate images with local models. It is also an MCP server and an OpenAI-style local server.
It runs open models on Apple silicon with MLX, Apple's on-device Foundation Models on macOS 26, or cloud providers with your own keys. The Linux VM sandbox needs macOS 26; on earlier versions it falls back to a macOS sandbox.
It needs an Apple silicon Mac on macOS 15.5 or later. The app is free and open source (MIT) with no account. With a local model nothing leaves your Mac; prompts go to a cloud provider only if you pick one.
Free · from $20/mo (The app is free with no account; local models have no usage charges. Workspaces (shared agents for teams, up to 5 seats, $20 of cloud credits a month) is $20 per workspace a month.)
